Assignment Description | CDC Consult was engaged by GIZ under the Market Oriented Agriculture Programme to conduct a desk study that maps funding institutions to financial products they offer including their terms and conditions as well as eligibility criteria to agribusinesses; assess agribusinesses experiences concerning the accessibility of SME financing and the challenges encountered in the acquisition of funding. The supply segment covered twenty-nine (29) national financial institutions; six (6) international financial institutions, three (3) development partners and four (4) government institutions/initiatives that support SMEs in the agriculture sector. The demand segment covered twenty-two (22) SMEs in agribusiness. The output of the mapping exercise is expected to form a basis for MOAP to engage its partners in the agriculture sector with respect to support for these businesses to access funding that are available for SMEs. |
